I highly recommend measuring your nipples before placing an order. Read my guide on how to measure your nipple. Most breast pumps come with 24mm shields, but in my experience, this size is usually too big for most women. If you’re using a 24mm shield or above, please re-measure or holler out to me to book a fitting.Replacing your pump partsSpectra and Maymom both recommend that you should replace your breast pump parts regularly to ensure the efficiency of your pump. If you have never replaced your parts and you feel as though the suction isn’t quite what it used to be, it is worth replacing all of your parts to ensure they’re performing at their peak.You should replace duckbill valves:Every 2 – 3 months if you pump less than once per dayEvery 3 – 4 weeks if you pump between 1 – 3 times per dayEvery 2 weeks if you pump more than 3 times per dayYou should replace breast shields every six months, regardless of the frequency of your pumping schedule.If your parts look worn or damaged, or they are fitting loosely, it is time to replace them as well.
