Chicken Teething Glove

It does have some design merits, I can see that the shape of the little arms on the chicken could be sucked. I can see that the comb on the top with the texture will be good to chew and I feel the arm that a baby can hold it/it will be easy to keep hold of/grip. But it is a piece of moulded silicone and would have been exceptionally cheap to manufacture. Although I have pulled this toy around with a lot of strength and nothing has come adrift, I don’t like the fact that the central bar is somehow glued in. As it has not been manufactured in one entire piece, there is the potential for something to come adrift. It does have a safety notice on the outside packaging, which I do approve of. Any toy for a very young child needs checking on a regular basis. This is not a toy that would be suitable to be near a pet who has a history of chewing random plastic, rubber or material things. We owe it to our children and our pets to be careful of what we bring into our homes. I think I prefer the more traditional type teethers, but on first inspection this does seem safe. I am an ex Toy LIbrarian and Early Years teacher so do know my way around toys. This will need to be sterilised with diluted Milton or submerged in boiling water before being given to a child and regularly cleaned thereafter.
